Temporary Tattoos  

What about a temporary tattoo?  You may like the idea of having a tattoo, but are not absolutely sure you want one on your skin for the rest of your life. You might have already tried the henna tattoos, but are now looking for a more realistic looking, non-permanent tattoo. You may want to try a temporary tattoo. The temporary tattoo has been popular with kids and teens for many years. 

About Temporary Tattoos 

Temporary tattoos used to be something that you got out of a vending machine at the grocery store or dime store. While this is still true, you can also now get temporary tattoos that really look as if they could be real. 

If you have never gotten a temporary tattoo before, they are very easy to apply. Sometimes temporary tattoos come in a sheet, while other times they come separately. Either way, be sure to cut the design out carefully so that the design is the only part of the tattoo that remains.  Make sure there are no sheet particles left around the edges. 

The next step that you need to do is take the plastic off that covers over the top of the tattoo. This is an important step that some people forget to do.  If they move right on to the next step, the tattoo will be ruined.  

When the plastic has been carefully removed, the next step you need to do is to place the tattoo on the area that you would like to have it be on. At this point, you should also have a wet sponge available. Once you have decided on the placement of the temporary tattoo and laid it on the skin, take the wet sponge and moisten the tattoo until is has become completely damp. 

Next step, slide the damp backing off very slowly.   The end result should be a very realistic looking temporary tattoo!  Keep in mind though that the less expensive the temporary tattoo, the more likely that it will quickly fade, so make sure you enjoy showing it off while it lasts! 

There are many benefits to having temporary tattoos as opposed to real ones. The most notable thing is that they are much easier to remove and are thus safer. Indeed, soap and water is a whole lot easier and less expensive than lasers!

Arm Tattoos

Tattoos are used in some cultures around the world to mark manhood or even womanhood.  There are many cultures that have different views on what is right or wrong.  Things that the western world views as perfectly okay to do may be viewed as peculiar or strange to other societies.  Each group of people determine what they think is right or wrong.  From culture to culture there are similar even if different ways to mark milestones in ones life.  Nearly everybody has watched a National Geographic’s show portraying Pacific Islanders or Rain Forest cultures and the role that tattoos play in the society.  American tattoo artists have copied some of the techniques and are using some of the artwork for arm tattoos.

Arm tattoos are popular because the person is able to conceal the tattoo with a shirt if necessary.  Many places of employment frown on or even prohibit the exhibition of tattoos.  If one has an arm tattoo, they have the best of both worlds, they have a tattoo but during work it is hidden.  Some people will proclaim that if a person has a tattoo they should be proud of it and show it off.  The basic premise is true but the reality is that everyone needs to work.  Imagine going to work on Wall Street in a suit with tattoos all over the neck.  Some places will not even hire a person with a tattoo.

Types of Arm Tattoos

An arm tattoo can be expensive especially if it is detailed.  People with arm tattoos usually get one that is either a badge of sorts like an eagle or shield, or a wrap around tattoo that takes advantage of the roundness for different artwork.  A tribal tattoo is very popular with young people today.  A tribal tattoo is usually done in black ink and will wrap around the arm above the elbow.  Another popular arm tattoo is the barb wire tattoo.  It’s similar to the tribal work but is a single or sometimes double strand of wire wrapping the arm.

Each new generation wants to stand out and proclaim that they are different from everyone else. One thing that is bound to happen is that when many of the younger generations grow older the tattoos will not be wanted.  Some of the hot tattoos won’t be so hot later in life.    They take a look around and determine that they aren’t so different than their peers.   There is an industry that makes a lot of money removing tattoos, proving that it is a fact that many people won’t want their tattoos forever.  The removal process is expensive and it hurts more than it did putting it on.  Think long and hard and select the perfect arm tattoo.
